I attended couple of workshops for mentoring postdocs recently and these are several useful tips I learned:
Be happy with your life first, that’s the key to success;
Success is not based on suffering, but the joy and passion;
Don’t compare yourself with others, that’s the source of misery. Just do your best!
Just work as hard as you can and be happy with the result, whatever that is;
Learn to do multitasking. A good scientist should be able to handle more than one projects, writing papers, submitting proposals, teaching, etc.
Pick what is important to you the most, learn to decline others so that you can achieve your critical goals;
Be efficient with your time, work hard, play hard!
