内角(inside corner)总是处在洋中脊的正断层的下盘(foot wall),而外角(outside corner)处在正断层的上盘(hanging wall)。拉张时,正断层的下盘(foot wall)总是被往上拉,因此比上盘(hanging wall)的位置要高,这时由弹性体变形的性质决定的。
